OUR MISSION

 

To put faith into action by helping churches protect their people, property and finances through insurance and risk management services.

 

OUR VISION

UMI’s work is guided by The General Council on Finance and Administration’s obligations as specified in The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church (Discipline 2012, ¶ 807.23).

UMI fulfills this obligation in a manner that is consistent with the social principles and creed of the Church.  Our goal is to aid churches in providing a safe and welcoming environment for their members and visitors and to foster responsible stewardship in protecting the resources of the church.

 

We work with the leadership of jurisdictions, conferences, districts, churches, agencies, and foundations of the Church to develop and offer risk management services and insurance products to fulfill GCFA’s mandate.

OUR VALUES

Faith and Fair Dealing –  Acting in a manner that is consistent with the denomination’s social principles which place a premium on transparency, diversity, and social principles of the Church to conduct business in a manner that honors our faith and our Creator.

Protection from Hazard – Safeguarding the life and property of the Church’s people to reduce or eliminate worry and economic insecurity and promote sustainability.

Stewardship – Acting as responsible stewards of the gifts and resources God has given us by helping to preserve and protect the Church’s property and finances.

Respect – Respecting the knowledge and commitment of the volunteers and employees within the Church who work to provide a safe and healthy environment for worship, fellowship, evangelism, and mission work.
